Introducing our Entertainers for the 2015-2016 Season:

Bernie and Red

Bernie and Red are two of the most popular performers to entertain Winter Texans.  Shows sell out regularly. This Canadian duo ties their English-Irish heritage to their lively variety shows, which feature music and comedy routines that keep the audiences in stitches.  The couple, who come to the Rio Grande Valley in January, has a new show each year but also do shows from past years so it is possible to see them more than once and see an entirely different show.

David and Daphne

Dave and Daphne are professional musicians and entertainers who live in Nashville, TN, yet travel world-wide with their show.Dave's "claim to fame", is that he was Barbara Mandrell's lead guitarist for 10 years. You may remember Daphne in Gospel Music.  She was presented the "Female Vocalist of the Year" Award by the Gospel Music Association.  At home, they entertain on The General Jackson Showboat, and Dave plays dates on the World Famous Grand Ole Opry Stage.

Their shows are high-energy and chocked full of great music, ranging from Dave's guitar instrumentals of "Orange Blossom Special" to the "Flight of the BumbleBee" and from the "Wildwood Flower" to the "William Tell Overture"!! You will enjoy Daphne's impressions of country music legends, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline! Add to that the ability to yodel out the Patsy Montana classic, "Cowboy's Sweetheart", captivate you with the smash hit from the movie "Titanic",--My Heart Will Go On", and bless you with a gospel classic, "The Lord's Prayer".

David Church

David Church has been featured on "Midwest Country" for over five years. His popularity throughout the US, Canada, and now Europe continues to soar as he makes regular appearances on the show and tours throughout the world. David has been featured in numerous major country music magazines. His wife, Terri Lisa, performed with the popular gospel group, "The Kings Heirs," throughout Northern Indiana. She started a variety group in the mid-90's called, "Joyful Noise," featuring gospel, country, 50/60's and pop music

Freddie and Sheila Show

The Freddie and Sheila Show is an energetic concert featuring world class guitar picking and fantastic singing. Lots of humor between songs make their concerts fun for everyone! They perform a variety of country classics, 60's rock, yodeling, clogging and more! Freddie's specialty is playing Chet Atkins style finger picking guitar instrumentals. The married duo perform in the RGV each January before moving on to resorts in Arizona and California as they have done the past 13 years.

Freddie has played for Ferlin Husky, Canadian fiddler, Al Cherney and singer/songwriter, Ian Tyson. With Freddie on lead guitar and vocals and Sheila singing and playing rhythm guitar, this 'all live' show will keep you fully engaged with their crazy antics and musicianship!

Goldwing Express

Gold Wing is traditional music at its best. It is traditional Southern Gospel, Comedy and Country Favorites. It is a group of three Native American brothers and their father. A segment of their performance is dedicated to this Indian Heritage. Each brother wears his own Native American headdress which represents the Creek Indian Tribe. They perform and reside in Branson, Missouri and produce their own music show.

Gomer and Patsy

"Gomer Hears Voices" Performed by Gary and Patsy Crain.   Come hear the comedy and many voices of Gary Crain “Gomer Pyle - Barney Fife - Floyd the Barber
Bill Clinton - Mr. Haney from Green Acres - John Wayne -- Jimmy Stewart - and Walter Brennan” - along with others.  Gomer also sings Elvis. Hear the great songs of Patsy Cline as sung by Patsy Crain.  Comedy and music all in one great show!

Jacob Austin Band

The Jacob Austin Band is truly a family band consisting of David, Liz, and Jacob Austin. Jacob, although the youngest member, is the namesake of the group as music has been his passion since a very early age. It is a passion that simmered for many years until Jacob became active in a local performing arts group and found his love of singing at the ripe old age of ten.  The group has been performing together since 2005 and has done many, many shows in all sorts of venues ranging from churches to livestock shows. The group plays a wide variety of music: traditional gospel, traditional country, oldies, Americana, show tunes, and original material.  Jacob plays mandolin, mountain dulcimer and sings leads, David plays 12 string rhythm guitar and sings harmonies and back up vocals, and Liz plays the autoharp .

Lindley Creek Christmas Show

The Greer Family ... Dad (John Rob) plays the upright bass.  Mom (Kathie) plays rhythm guitar.   Jase - plays fiddle and Katie - plays mandolin.

Pat Davison’s Comedy Magic Circus

Mom, Dad and daughter present the only show of its kind in the RGV.   They present Comedy Juggling, Comedy Magic, Unicycles, World Class Hula Hoops by Miss Mabelle "The Texas Tornado!" and Audience Participation.  The emphasis is on Comedy and they provide tons of laughs and excitement in a completely unique and professional show  guaranteed to be the most fun show of the season

Ralph Kuster Christmas Show

Ralph opened his first year on the 2011 Winter Texan tour with a well received performance at the Border Theatre on January 12th in Mission, Texas.  Since 2008, Ralph has been performing in his own show in Branson, Missouri. His music includes the sounds from the Sinatra/Martin era to Classic Country and from Soft Rock, Neil Diamond and Elvis to Broadway and Gospel.  Ralph will be performing his popular Branson show ‘A Bing Crosby White Christmas.’

Razz Ma Tazz

Razz-Ma-Tazz is the show choir from James “Nikki” Rowe High School in McAllen. Members of "Razz" are selected by audition from the 310 students in the choir program at Rowe. They perform a variety of music including Swing, Patriotic, Contemporary, and Broadway.

Red Head Express

The Redhead Express are four sisters with a dream; a big dream. They left their home in Alaska seven years ago to follow this dream, spent all of those seven years doing an INSANE amount of shows (like 2000...seriously!) all over the country and practicing like maniacs.  Now they are in Tennessee, the home of Country Music, and still following their dream.  The music of the Redhead Express takes you back to your Roots in a way that feels fresh and new.  They are only performing at two parks here in the valley and Winter Ranch is one of them so we are so pleased that they will be performing for us again this season.  Get out your Red Head t-shirts!  Get your tickets fast as they will probably sell out.

Vance Greek

Vance Greek got his start singing as a child when his family would perform in church. Greek would later tour in England, Australia, Brazil, Mexico and the Philippine Islands. In the 1980s he was featured on the television show “Country Gospel,” which aired on TBN.  He then moved to Branson where he performed from 1990 to 1997.  “Baby I Do,” a nostalgic pop song of the late 1950s became the number one song on the New York Music Review pop charts in February 1997. That year saw four more of Vance’s songs going to Treasure Coast Records’ Mitch Chandler CD.  Vance performed for us at our Resident Appreciation Event last season and we know that you’ll be excited to see his show.

Wade Benson Laundry “Swingin Cajun Style Show”

Having performed on stages across the country and playing fiddle alongside star artists such as Tammy Wynette, George Jones, and Jimmy C. Wilson, Wade Benson Landry now performs at the God and Country Theater in Branson with his show, “Wade Benson Landry's Swingin' Cajun Style”.  Landry’s famous for his masterful fiddle playing, and he puts his exceptional skill to perfect use with country, western swing, Cajun, and gospel songs sure to delight music fans of all ages! Featuring the terrific Teresa Bow Landry, this is one show you can’t resist; who doesn’t love an amazing mix of music and hysterical Cajun comedy.

William Florian (Lead Singer from the New Christy Minstrels) presenting “Those Were The Days”

An upbeat, energetic, musical journey of Americas greatest songs of the 60's including songs he performed as a lead singer of the famous New Christy Minstrels - the music of Peter Paul and Mary, John Denver, Pete Seeger, Mamas and The Papas, others - uplifting originals - presented with amusing stories in an intimate show.
